Pleo the Dinosaur a New Generation of Robots

Robosapien Toy Robot

Robosapien Toy Robot

If you are into robotics watching the Japanese dole out their robot wars or creating their bipedal machines that with every passing year seems to come closer and closer to science fiction becoming reality. Maybe you have heard of Robosapien, Roboraptor or even Robopet. The world was dazzled by these robotic toys by their abilities such as sensing walls, the edge of tables and even having their own preprogrammed autonomous functions. But now the world is introduced to the next generation of robotic toys a Pleo robot that is a dinosaur.

Robosapien Toy Robot

What makes this Pleo robot more moving than any robotic toy before it? First Pleo the dinosaur has a skin that gives it the appearance of a real creature. Next this robot has more moving features than any predecessor such as realistic eyes that move, open and close. Finally, Pleo the dinosaur has no remote or at least the remote isn't advertised with it, but runs on faultless autonomous features such as sight, touch and sound.

Robosapien Toy Robot

Kids will love Pleo the dinosaur as they pet and talk to it enticing generated responses from the robot. Taking the shape of a baby dinosaur, the Pleo robot acts like a just hatched animal. From tiny grunts and wobbly walk to its moving and sometimes playful nature this minuscule Pleo robotic dinosaur comes alive with personality. It goes to sleep after play and awakens when petted like a sleepy child refusing to wake. But as boundless as any baby animal would have, the Pleo robotic dinosaur has only about one and a half hours of play before the batteries need to be recharged. Pleo is like a excellent pet any way it can't run in out of control circles like a playful puppy would but its curiosity would surely override any want and desire to chase a robot throughout the house.

Robosapien Toy Robot

Pleo the dinosaur will surely be a big hit for children who always wanted their own pet but their parents are unable to get them one. Pleo dinosaur has the temperament to deal with a child's play, but would only be recommended to older children at seven years or older due to the fact that the Pleo robotic dinosaur is not a cheap toy costing upwards of 0.00. But inspecting the relative kindly nature by comparison to some of the former favorite versions of robotic toys like the Roboreptile who had a tendency to scare young children with its wildly favorite aggressive behavior, Pleo the dinosaur is good for those who want a kindly robot.

Pleo the Dinosaur a New Generation of Robots

If you are seeing for Pleo the dinosaur to add to your collection of robotic toys, you will have to buy it in the meantime online. Hopefully any way this minuscule Pleo robotic dinosaur will be more easily ready to robot enthusiasts everyone. Robotic toys are on the rise in popularity in any place and should Pleo the robotic dinosaur settle to have friends like those in the movie Land Before Time where they can interact as baby animals would do naturally would raise a new generation of robot enthusiasts in the around future.

I want to like Rovio.. I really do... But I still haven't decided if I'm keeping mine...

I've got docking issues with mine - not sure if it's just this unit, but it keeps trying to dock too far to the left (sometimes it succeeds - every other time it doesn't.. and when it does work, it takes forever to dock.)

The webcam on this is ok for well lit rooms, but is *really* poor for dark rooms - and the headlight is a joke - it's really dim. For being what it is, Wowwee should have concentrated on a better webcam/better light.

The navigation works ok, as long as it doesn't move it while trying to dock to it (which it always does - despite being against the wall..)

As a toy, it gets a solid 5 stars from me (althogh I think it's overpriced - they should have priced it ~0 or so..)

But as a remote controlled webcam sentry robot (in my case, to be used in spying on our pets), it gets 3 stars...

(PS - it has problems with the 1/2" ledge between our kitchen and living room..)

It is true that it is a mobile webcam. Web interface is really good. I checked with IPhone but the browser crashed 2 out of three time on IPhone. I have not checked the two way Audio yet so I can not comment on it.
For this high price the webcam pic quality is really bad and way too dark. The only way you can see the picture clearly if the area or room has very good lighting like 2-3 tube lights in a very small room otherwise you are out of luck to see anything in larger room with 1-2 lights in it.
Front LED which suppose to help to see in poorly lighted area is useless, it shows the tiny part of object if it is very close (like few cm)to that object.
I saw one hack to install more LED in it to increase the visibility but it is not for everyone you need to have very good knowldge of electronics which I dont.
In this price you can buy three entry level Axis IP cameras and get very good pic quality in very low light ( I have two of them and I am surprised by the quality of those cameras)
I dont recommend buying this for such high price unless they reduce price around 0.
The other review here, is very misleading most probably written by their own people.
Very disappointed with the product.
